Gutters and skylights

Overflowing gutters and leaking skylights are the two leaks we see most after the roof itself.

A gutter that overflows sends water behind the fascia and into the wall. A skylight that leaks usually has failed flashing, not a failed window.

We clear, repair or replace gutters and downspouts, add guards where trees make sense of it, and reflash or replace skylights with a kit made for the roof you have.

When we replace a roof we look at both, so you are not opening a new roof again in two years.

What we check

  • Gutter pitch and seams
  • Fascia and soffit rot
  • Downspout flow and drainage
  • Skylight flashing and seals
  • Condensation versus a real leak

Text a photo of the problem to (253) 555-0148 and we will tell you what we see.

Questions

Is it the skylight or the roof?

We water-test and look at the flashing to find out before we quote anything.

Do gutter guards work under firs?

Some do, some clog. We recommend them only where they will help.

Can you replace gutters without a new roof?

Yes. We check the first course of shingles and the drip edge while we do it.
